Takes too long to cure, I wont use it again.
Well pleased with this product. Seems to take a little longer to harden but that could be to the colder weather we are having here in South MS. So far no issues such as cracking or bubbles. Cuts like butter and sands nicely. Polishes real well. Have used it on 5 projects so far and well pleased. Will order again.
This resin has a lower viscosity, which is great for less bubbles. If you need your resin a thicker consistency simply mix the resin and let it sit until it's the consistency you like. MIX WELL. A lot of issues people run into with resin is from not stirring slowly and not stirring for long enough. The cure time is longer, but my open work time is longer, my pieces have less bubbles and finished pieces are less brittle and very strong. I've used this resin for casting things 2mm thick and up and have had great results. Keep in mind thicker pieces cure faster than super thin ones. The price is also very reasonable for the quality of product compared to other resins I've tried.
Set and cure time to long. Seven days or longer to get full set. Two days before you can remove frome mold. You have to follow the directions to the print to even get it to work right. that means mixing for a long time. And you will need lots of mold release.
I usually use normal clear cast. I thought id try this because of the less yellowing. I’m not a fan at all. It definitely takes longer to try which I don’t have time for....it’s feels rubbery. I’m just going to have to go back to the original but I guess it was worth a try. Next time I won’t buy a gallon when I’m trying something new but I didn’t think it would be that much if a difference
I make custom tumblers, going on 2 years. I only use alumilite. So I saw the plus version and said oooo! I must try. I buy 2 gallons at a time. With the regular version I could hand cups after about 7 hours, still a tiny tacky, but enough to move off turners and start next cups....this stuff is still to tacky to even attempt to touch after 10 hours!!!! It sucks...and will never buy this version again. If you are pressed for time, go with the original, not the UV plus.
I would never purchase this product again it is definitely not meant for southern climates/temperatures. Curing process never completes. I used it again in the fall when the temperatures were not as warm and the curing did occur however it took a few days. what I was able to find out is it became soft and bent when the temperature was warmer. Wasted time and money. So disappointed.
Does not dry well compared to the regular kind.
I do not like thos new product at all. It is not flowing on my tumblers like the regular amazing clear cast does. I've mixed it the correct way a 1:1 ratio and it's just not working. I'm so disappointed. I highly recommend started out with a small bottle when trying this. I bought the 2 gallon and what a waste. I will be buying the amazing clear cast from now on!
